描述

芥酸的直接用途不多，主要用作精细化学品的中间体，用来制取各种表面活性剂、润滑剂、增塑剂、乳化剂、软化剂、防水剂、去污剂等。其衍生物芥酸酰胺（[112-84-5]）是塑料的润滑剂；芥酸氢化制成二十二烷酸，进一步加工制成山酸，用于舰艇上防止盐水腐蚀和防止藻类等附着在船体上。芥酸裂解可制取壬酸和十三碳二元酸，后者可制造人造麝香、耐低温耐光的优良增塑剂、尼龙-13和尼龙-1313。这类尼龙具备一般尼龙所不具备的特点，比其他尼龙更抗水，熔点低，能在低温下加工。
