描述

生育酚（维生素 E）由一系列（α、β、γ 和 δ）手性化合物组成，它们的不同之处在于色原醇环的苯酚部分的甲基化程度。它们起到脂溶性抗氧化剂的作用，保护细胞膜免受氧化损伤。 α-生育酚容易被人体吸收，其烟酸盐可作为维生素 E 补充剂。研究还报告说，维生素 E 可以预防大鼠药物性癫痫引起的细胞损伤。
