4-Bromo-a-phenylbenzenemethanol is used in the synthesis of diarylmethylpiperazines as potent and selective nonpeptidic δ-opioid receptor agonists. Is used in the ysnthesis of bronsted acid-catalyzed benzylation of 1,3-dicarbonyl derivatives.
