tert-Butyl 2-bromo-2-methylpropanoate, is used as a buliding block in organic synthesis, as well as as a reagent for polymerization. It can also be used as an initiator for in the atom transfer radical polymerisation (ATRP) of Monovinyl and Divinyl Monomers.
