2,7-Dimethyl-9-mesityl-10-phenylacridinium Tetrafluoroborate can be used to synthesize various bioactive compounds via site-selective arene amination when used with an acridinium photooxidant and a nitroxyl radical. It can also be used to construct γ-lactams and pyrrolidines.
