2-(Ethylamino)ethanol is used in the preparation of novel indole-2-carboxamide and 3-acetamide derivatives as antioxidant protective agents. Also used in the synthesis of novel amino acid based arginase inhibitors used towards the treatments of myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury.
