N-[(1S)-2-Hydroxy-1-methylethyl]-2-nitrobenzenesulfonamide is used in the synthesis of a rho-kinase inhibitor K-115. Also used in the preparation of homopiperazine derivatives which potentially exhibit antibacterial properties.
