3-Hydroxypiperidine is used as a reagent to synthesize trisubstituted ureas, compounds that act as thrombin receptor (PAR-1) antagonists. 3-Hydroxypiperidine is also a metabolite of Piperidine (P479985), Piperidine is an organic heterocyclic amine widely used as building block and reagent in the synthesis of organic compounds including pharmaceuticals.
