2-Iodoanisole is a useful synthetic intermediate. It can be used in the synthesis of piperidinyl diaminopyrimidines as cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors with antitumor activity and polysubstituted benzofuran derivatives as novel inhibitors of parasitic growth.
