Sodium Hydroxide, also known as lye, is a very common chemical reagent. It is a strong base used in industrial chemical applications. Used in the textile, food and medicinal industries. Its ability to digest tissues allows for analysis of various effects of pharmaceutical agents in rodent tissue.
